In these modern days if I talk about mental culture, it may not be acceptable to all. You cannot stop an age old person giving advice and suggestions to build personality traits in the younger generation.
To lead a happy and harmonious life, we need some guidance from our ancient wisdom. Many great scholars and philosophers have bestowed on us profound wisdom in the form of literature and life‐style practices. All those valuable teachings are very beneficial to us in all fields of life, in our day‐to‐day activities and human contacts.
Man cannot isolate himself from the family and society at large. He is not mere physique. He is also a combination of soul and mind. His physical needs are granted by the modern society. His mind and soul require food and purification. The purification of the soul has to be provided through introspection. Some psychic practices are essential to strengthen the soul’s energy. Material enjoyment is not everlasting. After hundreds of experiences he becomes tired and depressed.
Starting point of mental culture is from the family, from where the practice has to spread to the society. We should spread peace and friendship at all levels. We should cultivate spiritual values and we have to plan and lead our life in the light of our realized values.
A wise man is one who has ordered his life and the life of his family members entirely to be free of conflict. For harmony and understanding, the head of the family should be able to fulfill the needs of everyone and his spiritual path should be helpful to nurture his mental culture. Introspection practices are the basis for growing tolerance, adjustment, sacrificing mentality, unconditional love and service mindedness in the hearts of sons, daughters and elders.
Wisdom should be the ruling quality, not anger, ego or vanity. We have to apply our wisdom, principles of Karma Yoga, Law of Nature and SKY truths and blessing techniques to correct our people and other bad situations.
We have to study our life from the beginning to the last day. All are planned stage by stage. We are provided with intellect and efficiency to go through these stages from childhood.
“Things flourish, each by each only to return to the source.” That is our destiny and destination too. The Divine is our origin. Our birth is to realize consciousness. For that spiritual pilgrimage we need mind disciplining lessons. We keep the muddy water still to make it clear ... Hence ‘Meditation’.
